Rashes of Face
There are several mild harmless facial rashes that can develop in babies, which will soon go away without medication.
INFANT ACNE
If the rashes are like pimples or acne, your baby may be exhibiting the effect of maternal hormones still circulating in her system. Another cause may be that the pores of infants are not completely developed yet, making them easy targets for infiltration by dirt. If the rashes are small, fluid-filled bumps surrounded by reddish, sometimes oozing skin, he may have Atopic dermatitis, a skin problem found in babies with allergies or a family history of allergy. Aside from maintaining skin moisture, a cream or ointment may be needed to reduce inflammation.
They may also have rashes that are similar looking to Atopic Dermatitis. It is caused by contact with an irritating substance, such as strong soaps, certain medicines, or woolen or rough-woven fabrics. One of the most common irritants is the baby’s own saliva. This type of rash will resolve itself if the irritant is no longer present.
We do not recommend that leftover medicines be stored and used for the next illness. As long as they’ve been opened, discard them even if they haven’t reached their expiration date to avoid the effects of possibly contaminated or ineffective medicine.

- Always check expiration date.
- Pour leftover or expired medicines into the toilet.
- Check the battle label for care and storage directions. Some medicines are destroyed by heat and need to be refrigerated; others are destroyed by light and need to be stored in dark places.
